Welcome to The Alchemy Project

The Alchemy Project works with disadvantaged and at-risk youth to unlock their inner-voice by inspiring and cultivating a love for writing. The transformative process instills self-esteem and self-worth which translates into a greater appreciation for education and a desire to learn.

Through its signature program, The Baseball Diaries, youth in the margins join to play the game but end the season transformed. To find out more about this and other programs, check out What We Do.

Programs

One out of every two African American children in California will not graduate from high school. One out of every three Latino children will meet the same fate.

The Baseball Diaries combines a hook of baseball with a creative new writing program to reach kids who would otherwise be left behind. The writing program reinforces and deepens the principals of discipline, respect and integrity first established on the field.
